I often describe what I do as building jewelry. Finding materials, arranging stones and other objects of interest in an aesthetic and pleasing way. I also think of the balance and weight of a design, it has to feel wonderful when you wear it.
Color always plays an important part. I LOVE color! When I choose my color palette for a design, it is like painting. I definitely have my favorite hues that I tend to work with. I'm drawn to the shades of the sea and beach, and to the warm riot of autumn colors.
Mixing things up a bit with unexpected placement of metal washers that have a cool patina, and brass jump rings that offer a subtle glow, bring that well traveled and loved feeling to my jewelry.
I build new jewelry with the look of an interesting past...
